"PM Lauds Progress of Techo International Airport Project"

Kandal, March 12, 2024: Prime Minister Hun Manet expressed his profound excitement while witnessing the remarkable advancement of the Techo International Airport project, hailed as Cambodia's largest airport and a testament to the nation's pride.

PM conveyed his enthusiasm during an inspection ceremony of the first phase of the Techo International Airport construction, conducted on the morning of March 12, 2024.

Reflecting on the experience, PM remarked, "The excitement was palpable as we journeyed from the ring road into the city and approached the site. Despite being incomplete, the anticipation rivals that of the eve of the Angkor International Airport inauguration."

According to a report from the Minister of Secretariat of State for Civil Aviation, Mr. Mao Havannal affirmed that construction on the 4F International Techo Airport commenced on June 16, 2020, spanning a vast area of 2,600 hectares across Kandal Steung District, Kandal Province, and Bati District, Takeo Province.

As of February 21, 2024, Mr. Mao Havnall disclosed that the first phase of Techo International Airport's 4F construction had achieved approximately 66.1% completion, with a total expenditure of $961 million allocated towards infrastructure development, out of a projected total investment of $1.5 billion.

The Secretariat of State for Civil Aviation outlined that as per the outlined plan, the inaugural phase of Techo International Airport, classified as 4F, is slated for opening in the first half of 2025.
